Below is the information needed to care for the dogs.   Please refer to the pictures of the dogs in the Dogs section to know which dog is which!

Feeding Dogs

** Please read everything in this note before feeding any dogs so that you have all info and all animals in the correct place**

1) To feed the dogs in the main living quarters (everyone but Carly and Jaxon), their feed bowls and food are in the laundry room (1st door to the left when you walk in front door).  The dog feed bowls have a label with a dog's name on each bowl and are sitting on top of the dog food containers (except for 1 container that has bird seed).

There is a colorful cup (pictured above) that  I use for determining the amount of food each dog gets.  See below for filling feed bowls.

The following group gets fed once a day and usually between 4:30 and 6pm

*Before getting started, get 1 can of dog food from the laundry room by the closet door and then the white handled spoon on the left side of the sink.

**Tex MUST be in the bedroom since he cannot be with Finley, Beaver or Casey!!!!!

Finley, Avery, Beaver, Casey get a FULL cup

Kirby, Daisy, Tex get a 60% cup

Sydney gets a 70% cup

Frankie is the only one that uses the tan small measuring cup and he gets that full

They are all use to routine so please feed in this order and in designated place!

Finley gets fed 1st and in the laundry room

Avery and Beaver get fed in the foyer and can be fed at the same time ....  Avery's bowl to the left towards the gate and Beaver's bowl to the right towards the front door.

Kirby, Daisy, Frankie and Sydney get fed in kitchen.... slide down the white board next to the refrigerator to keep them in kitchen and other dogs out of the kitchen.    I put down Daisy's bowl by the stove, then Sydney's by the dishwasher, then Kirby's to the left of the sink and then Frankie's in the middle of the kitchen.   Hang around to make sure nobody steals anyone's food!  ;-)

When all of these are through with their food, they each get fed a spoonful of the canned dog food.

Then get this whole group out the side door to the arena and let them all potty!

Then let Casey out of her crate in the laundry room and feed her in the laundry room.    After she is finished, let her out the side door to arena to potty and then bring her back in.... and maybe give her a few minutes to hopefully drink some water.

2) Now time for Tex:

When Finley, Beaver and Casey have come back inside  and you have walked into the kitchen to encourage Casey to drink water, then put Casey in the crate in the laundry room and put Finley and Beaver in the foyer and close gate.

Now you can feed Tex....  Set his bowl up on the bed in the bedroom and leave the door closed with just him in there so he can eat it.    If he doesn't eat, you may have to sit in the room with him.  After he finishes, then give him a spoonful of canned dog food and let him out the side door to the arena and let him potty and then bring him back in and put him in the bedroom and close door.

3) Now time for Jaxon:

Jaxon is in a crate in the tool/horse shower room off the back porch.

*** ONLY deal with Jaxon if you feel SAFE.... I don't know how he will be.   If he is aggressive, then leave him in the crate.   If I am unavailable for more than one day, then call vet to get help.   If only 1 day, then see if you can find a way to get him water but do not put your hands in his crate.  *****

BEFORE FEEDING JAXON, please make sure SIDE DOOR in living quarters has the DEAD BOLT locked!  And COUNT all inside dogs to make sure everyone is up before anything is done with Jaxon.  AND PLEASE MAKE SURE OUTDOOR CAT IS NOT ON PORCH.... hopefully you will see him in the hallway, etc.

Jaxon gets a FULL cup and is fed after the group above gets fed and have been out to potty and are ALL back inside!   Jaxon CANNOT BE WITH ANY dogs..... only one dog can really be with him EVER and that is Casey.   Jaxon is fed on the back porch then when he finishes he goes out the back porch gate to the dog arena.  Casey can only be let out with Jaxon by use of the door to the back porch and then gate to dog yard in arena.   Too many chances if you let her out the side door into the arena.

4) Now Carly: who gets fed in the morning

BEFORE FEEDING Carly who is in BEDROOM OFF THE BACK PORCH, make sure ALL dogs are COUNTED and inside!  Carly gets fed in the morning .... anytime between 7 and 9am.   She gets a FULL cup of the colorful cup.   Her bowl is on top of the cabinet outside her bedroom door.   Set her bowl down on the ground near the cabinet and open the door to let her out to get to her bowl.   After she finishes, let her out the porch gate that goes into the dog arena to go potty.   After a short while, bring her back in and put her in the bedroom.

Water for dogs

There are several water bowls for the dogs so please check that these have water!  There is usually a pitcher by the sink that I fill up to fill these bowls.

One is in the kitchen

Another is in the bedroom in the living quarters

Another is in the bedroom off the back porch

And the last one is in a bucket that is hanging on the fence near the back porch gate to the arena.

Medicine for dogs

Medicine for the animals is on the high counter in the kitchen and located near the lamp near the refrigerator.

1) NOBODY is currently on medication but the dogs are use to getting their nighttime treat.  I use the white handled spoon by the sink and use a can of Libby's pumpkin.... may be in fridge or if need a new can, look in pantry cabinet by bathroom door.  They will all come into the kitchen and I give everyone a spoonful of the canned dog food and then they each get 2 spoonfulls of the pumpkin .... say their name as you go to give it to them so nobody will try to steal the spoonful!   AGAIN, keep Tex separated from the group as you do this and get everyone out for their potty break after this nighttime snacck and then once Finley and Beaver are back in the foyer and Casey in her crate in the laundry, then let Tex out of the bedroom and give him the spoonfuls of treats and put him outside for his bedtime potty break.
