Gracie and Peanut are the indoor cats and Leo is the outdoor cat.
Gracie and Peanut stay mainly in the bathroom, laundry room and closet. When I am home, I will open the bathroom door(s) and let them have more freedom.... depending on which dogs are in the den....sometimes Beaver pesters them too much so I don't let them out as often when he is out.
Gracie started showing up to the barn and hanging out in the hay stall .... smart girl since it was getting to be winter time so hay was going to keep her warm! She would go back and forth between the neighbor's yard and our barn but started being more regular at our barn and was letting us pet her. And yes, we put out food for her so that might have encouraged her to come back but she would stay and got to where after a few months she was in the barn full time. We brought her inside when we got Peanut and decided to make them friends! And keep them both safe since both have white on them and we didn't want them roaming the pastures at night with the risk of a coyote getting them.
Peanut loves attention and will get in your lap as often as she can! We found Peanut at the end of the driveway. My sister and I came home one day and my sister got out of the car to get the gate.... which took a little longer than normal since getting out of the car stirred up her bladder so she had to stand at the gate a few minutes (HaHaHaHa) and that's when she heard a cat. We didn't see anything so I drove her on up to the barn (to pee....LOL) and I drove back down and there was Peanut! All I did was open my door and she jumped into the floorboard!!! I was shocked to have a cat do this .... even a stray dog does not do that! Well we came to see she had lots of personality so she got Nut at the end of the name....and my sister is the reason for the first part of her name! LOL!!!!
Leo started showing up at the barn and would come and go but started hanging around more and then he was around fulltime! I would find him sleeping on the back porch and eventually looking in the back window but have left him to stay outside for now. He hangs around the animals when they are in the barn and he follows me around and helps me feed!
